ILIA DARCHIASHVILI HAS MET WITH HIS TURKISH COLLEAGUE

Within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan to review the main issues of the strategic partnership between the two countries. 

The ministers highlighted that the meeting of the Georgian Prime Minister and the Turkish within the framework of the General Assembly was yet another expression of close friendship and partnership between Georgia and Turkiye.

The sides paid special attention to the situation in the region. The ministers once again emphasized the need to ensure peace for the sustainable and stable development of the region and noted the special role of both Georgia and Turkey in this process. 

The ministers agreed to actively work to further strengthen all areas of strategic partnership, including by exchanging high-level visits.

The excellent cooperation between Georgia and Turkey within international organizations, including the United Nations, was emphasized.
