ILIA DARCHIASHVILI HAS MET WITH THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
At the meeting, the ministers noted the need to intensify the relations between the two countries and emphasized the great potential in this regard.
The sides highlighted the growing potential of cooperation between Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking into account the European aspirations of the two countries.
The Georgian side expressed Georgia's interest in developing relations with the Balkan countries, in this regard, a positive assessment was given to the format of consultations. Consultations with the participation of the ministries of foreign affairs of the Balkan countries have already been held at the initiative of Georgia and are planned in the near future.
The ministers reviewed the EU enlargement policy and the current situation in this regard. Ilia Darchiashvili informed his Bosnian colleague about Georgia’s progress in terms of fulfilling the European Commission’s recommendations to obtain the candidate status and expressed the hope that Georgia’s efforts will be properly appreciated.
The ministers expressed their willingness to actively cooperate for the development of bilateral ties, including by exchanging high-level visits.
