ILIA DARCHIASHVILI HAS SPOKEN OVER THE PHONE WITH GERT JAN KOPMAN

On 10 October 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a telephone conversation with the Director-General of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations , Gert Jan Kopman.

Discussions focused on Georgia’s progress towards fulfilling the 12 recommendations of the European Commission. The sides positively evaluated the ongoing consultations with the Georgian government and the European Commission, and took stock of the results of high-level meetings held in Tbilisi and Brussels in September and early October.

The sides agreed to continue active consultations in order to reflect Georgia's progress in the European Commission's report, which will be published in early November, as part of the "Enlargement Package".
