"I WOULD LIKE TO CONFIRM OUR SUPPORT FOR THE EUROPEAN UNION’S DECISION OF JUNE 2022 TO GRANT A EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE TO GEORGIA"- MARIYA GABRIEL

"I would like to confirm our support for the European Union’s decision of June 2022 to grant a European perspective to Georgia. Georgia has made significant progress on the path of EU integration"- Bulgarian Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel said at the press conference held Sofia following the meeting with her Georgian counterpart, Ilia Darchiashvili.

"We expect that this progress will be reflected in the European Commission's report soon. It is important to maintain this level of intensive dialogue and to share Bulgaria's position regarding Georgia's European perspective with other EU member states - the Bulgarian Vice Prime Minister is quoted as saying.

As the Bulgarian minister noted, discussions also focused on the need to deepen relations between Georgia and Bulgaria, including cooperation in the fields of economy, infrastructure, energy, high technologies, innovation, education and culture.

"I would like to thank Minister Darchiashvili for his visit and confirm the clear support of the Bulgarian government. I want to wish the Georgian people success on the road to European integration" - Mariya Gabriel said.
