Visit to the Republic of the Philippines
On June 11–12, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Tornike Nozadze, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., attended the official events marking Philippine Independence Day, including the ceremonial flag-raising, the parade, and the state reception.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Nozadze held meetings with Maria Raquel Arena, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, and Deena Joy Amatong, Assistant Secretary for European Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.
The discussions focused on the current state of bilateral relations between Georgia and the Philippines and explored opportunities for further strengthening cooperation across various areas of mutual interest. The parties also exchanged views on the regional geopolitical environment, prevailing security challenges, and Georgia’s role in promoting regional stability and fostering international cooperation.
